Boathouse - Paddleboards & Kayaks
ColdWater will feature its own little private stone boathouse and shoreline lake access, where homeowners can launch their own kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards … or borrow one of our neighborhood’s durable paddleboards or kayaks to explore the lake. A convenient trail leads from Boathouse Way down to Brighwater Cove Preserve, where the ColdWater Boathouse sits near the edge of the lake. With 88 miles of natural shoreline to navigate, there are new discoveries every day. Whether you enjoy scouting for the perfect fishing hole, quietly observing our diverse species of native waterbirds, or whether you prefer to splash your way through an invigorating kayak race with family and friends, opportunities abound for those new or experienced with all types of recreational boating.
Skiing & Boating
Belews Lake is home to the best recreational boating and water sports in the Triad. A sparkling haven for boaters, skiers, wakeboarders, jet skiers, and even sailboats, there is a place for everyone! ColdWater is conveniently located just a 3 minute drive from Piney Bluff Boat Launch, where there are several public ramps available for you to launch your motor boat. Belews Lake has it all. There are endless natural coves and islands where swimmers, rafters, and beginning skiers will enjoy sheltered privacy. There are long, winding stretches of lake that are a dream for jet skiers and tubers. And just south of us is a large area of open, smooth water — perfect for that long, easy glasswater ski run. And if sailboats and spectacular sunsets are more your speed, you’ll find them on the wide, deep blue water to the north where there’s always a breeze, and where each evening, the sun sets the sky into a glorious show of color, mirrored by the rippling reflections of the lake and framed by distant views of the Blue Ridge.
Natural Fishing Pier
ColdWater boasts the best fishing pier on Belews Lake. Formed by the historic A&Y railroad bed, the long stone pier is now covered with grass and trees and enjoys panoramic views of the surrounding lake on all sides. There is no limit to fishing spots, and both the north and south side of the pier may be fished for bluegill, bass, crappie, and other North Carolina fish. Native trees graciously shade ColdWater’s benches on the pier, and there is ALWAYS a good spot to fish or relax. Whether you like to fish, or whether you would just prefer a leisurely walk on the grassy trail to the end of the pier, you’ll relish the natural beauty and peaceful reflections of the water on all sides. The early morning light is uniquely magical, and the benches on the point are perfect for morning coffee or for a quiet evening respite after a day at the lake.
